Kate is a medium-city gal with a small-town heart. Raised by a strong single-mom during her formative years, she knows how to take matters into her own hands, but enjoys falling asleep in the arms of her husband at the end of a long day. A jill-of-all-trades, Kate excels at cursing like a sailor, impressing colleagues with her city-chicken husbandry, and teaching herself how to do the things she’s passionate about, such as photography and cooking and canning dilley beans. Originally from a Milwaukee suburb, Kate is a Minneapolis transplant who feels most at home in its Northeast quadrant, thanks to its copious amount of bars, churches and aluminum fences, reinforced by increasingly good options for food, numerous tap-rooms and the majority of her closest friends.
Much of Kate’s week is spent putting out fires on the Internet, sitting in meetings and trying not to be a total fish-out-of-water at her 9-to-5 office job. The remainder involves over-sharing pictures of her (insanely adorable) three-year-old twin boys, evening strolls to the neighborhood park and trying to come up with her next mouthwatering recipe for #FridayPizzNight. She’ll try any foodstuff twice, unless it contains shellfish (as it tends to send her into anaphalatic shock), which remains a sore spot for a woman whose life revolves around food. She loves coffee, despises cumin, and wears a size 10.5 shoes.
