I recently survived a kitchen remodel. It was a four month project that tried my patience, broke my savings account and tested my marriage; all the challenges you hear about with major home updates. And it was all so worth it
Now that we've completed the hard part, and by "we" I clearly mean all the awesome guys who did the actual work, I'm in the decorating stage; scouring the interwebs for clever and cute storage ideas. For knick-knacks that add pops of color. For the perfect accessory that is functional but mostly just pretty. I've compiled my findings below in a small guide for all the Must-Have Kitchen accessories you really don't need but of course want.
These little dishes look great and are super functional for cooking.
I'm not talking about just any cutting board, rather one that can stay permanently on the counter. One that has no-slip grips and looks great. Perhaps a salt cellar and cruet of olive oil can live on it.
Mortar & Pestles
These are great to have around. From grinding sea salt, peppercorns or other dried herbs, a mortar and pestle can be a nice way to add some color and texture to your countertop.
Most modern kitchens appliances are equipped with timers so these are definitely about form more than function. But again, these gadgets can help add color and some vintage flare.
Sure, call them storage units. We all know it's just an excuse to buy something pretty. From wall mounts to berry trays, these accessories make it easy to keep frequently used items easily within reach.
Okay, these you may actually need so you might as well get kitchen towels that look nice.
Food is a beautiful thing, so why not showcase it on the walls of your kitchen?!
Another fully functional countertop item that can be incorporated into decor.
