The Most Easy Up-Do

Talia Wischmann

I was going to put together a big ol' New Years Eve post complete with beauty tips, dress ideas and hairstyles. Instead I spent a week eating a lot of pies and wrapping presents. So here you have the most easy up-do in the entire world and it's perfect for New Year's Eve!

You'll need: an elastic headband (you probably have one of these lying around from when you tried to be bohemian two years ago and wore it over your forehead and then couldn't take it off for the entire day because it created a giant dent across your noggin), long hair, fingers. No bobby pins, no hairspray.

Here we go:

Put the headband over the top of your hair, like I'm doing in the above photo. The super cranky face is not required to pull of this look.

Start with a small amount of hair at the front of your head and loop it around the headband.

Continue wrapping sections of hair around the headband until you get to the base of your crown, then start on the other side. If you have really thick hair and want to do a half up-do, like in this photo, just don't wrap the hair at the base of your crown.

That's it! Extra special bonus: It'll give you pretty fantastic curls when you take the headband out at the end of the night.
