Oh, hey guys! How I've missed you so. I'm bringing you a little yuletide cheer all the way from Brooklyn, with local NYC Owney's rum and hometown Bittercube Bitters! The best of both worlds, some might say.
This is a quick, simple warm cocktail that is as perfect for snowy (or rainy, if you are in NYC) nights in as it is for lively gatherings. I happen to think it's the perfect nightcap (as long as you use caffeine-free tea) as you recount your night and agree that yes, we will do the dishes in the morning.
Winter Rum Warmer
- 1 cup Tazo Passion Tea
- 2 ounces Owney's rum
- 3-6 drops Bittercube Orange Bitters
- Brew passion tea and let steep for 2-3 minutes. This stuff is potent, so you don't want to let the tea bag sit in there for too long or it will completely overpower the drink.
- Add rum and bitters to taste. Give a quick stir.
- Cuddle up on the couch with your favorite blanket and enjoy.
So you see, it really couldn't be easier. If you're like me and think that everything tastes better if there is something adorable involved, you can buy gold animal drink stirrers at Gnome Sweet Gnome's Etsy shop.
